By downloading, installing, or using Monavo ("the app", "the service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the app.
These Terms apply to all users of Monavo, whether using the free or premium version, on iOS or Android.
Monavo is a personal expense tracking application that allows users to log transactions, track recurring bills, and view spending insights. The app operates primarily on-device (local-first). Optional features include cloud sync across devices and AI-powered transaction parsing.
Monavo is a personal financial tool. It is not a banking app, does not connect to financial institutions, and does not provide financial advice.
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the European Union) to use Monavo. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. If you are using the app on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms.
You may use Monavo without an account. If you enable cloud sync, you will need to create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for:

Monavo offers a free tier with core functionality. Premium features are available through a paid subscription:
A 7-day free trial is available to new subscribers on the monthly and annual plans. You will not be charged during the trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be billed at the selected plan rate.
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. All billing is processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store — we do not handle payment information directly. To cancel, manage your subscription through your App Store or Google Play account settings.
Subscription management is facilitated by RevenueCat. By using premium features, you also agree to RevenueCat's terms of service.
Refunds for App Store purchases are subject to Apple's refund policy. Refunds for Google Play purchases are subject to Google's refund policy. We do not process refunds directly. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at support@getmonavo.com and we will assist you in resolving it with the relevant platform.
The Quick Add feature optionally uses artificial intelligence to parse natural-language input (e.g. "coffee 3.50") into structured transaction data. This feature is powered by Anthropic's Claude API.
By using AI features, you agree to Anthropic's usage policies. Your input text is transmitted to Anthropic's API as described in our Privacy Policy, with any numbers replaced by a placeholder before sending — the actual amount never leaves your device.
Optional cloud sync is provided via Supabase, a third-party infrastructure provider. By enabling cloud sync, you acknowledge that your transaction data will be stored on Supabase's servers. Supabase processes this data solely to provide the sync service and is bound by their own privacy and security policies.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of cloud sync. Cloud services may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance or due to circumstances beyond our control. We recommend using the in-app CSV export feature to maintain your own local backups.
You agree to use Monavo only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

All content, design, code, trademarks, and other intellectual property in Monavo are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the app without our express written permission. Your transaction data belongs to you — we claim no ownership over it.
Monavo is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of security vulnerabilities. We are not financial advisors — the app is a personal tracking tool and should not be relied upon for financial decisions.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, financial loss, or loss of profits, arising from your use of or inability to use Monavo. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We may add, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We will notify users of significant changes where possible. We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with reasonable notice. Continued use of the app after changes constitute acceptance of the updated Terms.
You may stop using Monavo at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the app ceases immediately. If you have a cloud account, you may request deletion of your data by contacting us.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the developer is based, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal legal action.
